A little about me...My name is Asia Klassen and this is my third year teaching at Marshpoint. I graduated with my Bachelors in Education from the University of Georgia in 2012 and just finished my Masters in Education at Georgia Southern over the summer. I taught in North Georgia before my husband, Cory, and I moved to a little town on the edge of the rainforest in Ecuador for a year to teach at a home for abandoned children. We moved back to the States and settled in Savannah when we were pregnant with our first daughter, Sadie. Over the summer we welcomed another sweet girl, Marley Jane, into our little family. We love Savannah and all it has to offer and enjoy the beach, traveling and keeping up with our great big dog, Simba.
My philosophy for teaching is simple... "Show them and they might remember Teach and they may understand But involve them and they will learn." I believe our students learn best when they are able to be active participants. I love the power that an education can provide for individuals and am so grateful to be a part of your child's first experience of school. Kindergarten is truly fun every single day. I am thrilled to be teaching these sweet kiddos and am excited for the upcoming school year! |
